On a family winery founded in 1850 Tesseron house invites you to discover the secrets of cognac. The museum is at the heart of the family business founded in 1850.
The museum of the winemaker Charentais , the world of cognac at a wine of the nineteenth century are reconstructed through the habitat of the culture of vines, a cooper’s workshop , the wine cellars or old signs and labels .

MUSEUM OF ART AND HISTORY :
Located in the heart of the public garden of the Town Hall , the Museum of Art and History brings together collections of paintings, sculptures, decorative arts and archeology.
Made largely around mailings State and by donations from families linked to trading or cognac industry , municipal collections are housed in an elegant mansion built in 1838.
The museum is distinguished by a set of paintings of the Northern Schools . It also has a collection of decorative arts Art Nouveau , consisting of Emile Gallé creations , Daum and Lalique .
An important place is devoted to regional painters.
Archaeological collections from prehistoric sites in the region of Cognac , regional ceramics, furniture and objects illustrating local traditions complement the course.

With over 1600m2 permanent exhibition which tells the story of the Cognac business of viticulture, winemaking , distilling , cooperage, trading , packaging, … Museum of Arts Cognac offers a documentary background rich .

THE CONVENT RECOLLETS :
In 1611 the convent housed the monks monastery. Thanks to many donations , it was enlarged in 1635 . He had a small church. Some vestiges testify to the history of the place that throughout the nineteenth century was assigned to the City Hall , the Justice and Peace College . He also became Hotel Finance .
It is now an exhibition center , conference and office associations.

ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM :
Established in 1815 , it brings together dramatically significant elements of buildings (temples, basilica, mausoleums … ) of the Gallo- Roman city.
The room devoted to the Gallo-Roman life contains movable objects found during excavations and many that shed light on the lives of Santon : glass , ceramics, ornamental elements …
A driveway marked by Doric columns leads to lapidary . Inside, you can admire a wonderful and rich collection of columns, capitals, bas-reliefs, ornamental sculptures , religious funeral .
These elements come from the excavation of the ancient city walls . Built around 300 AD. BC, to protect the city but also to give to the new mode of construction related to the prestige and pageantry , this wall was built with large blocks of Gallo-Roman 1st century buildings.
